what if u have $36.53 in ur rpm adsense is that momey
Page revenue per thousand impressions (RPM) is calculated by dividing your estimated earnings by the number of page views you received, then multiplying by 1000.
Page RPM = (Estimated earnings / Number of page views) * 1000
For example, if you earned an estimated $0.15 from 25 page views, then your page RPM would equal ($0.15 / 25) * 1000, or $6.00.
In accounting terms is called a "Revenue Driver" , its a tool so that you know what kind of ads works well. Example explains : Lets say we call the above advs Banner 1, which has 25 page impression and it gives you a revenue of 15 cents , the RPM is calcutlated as above , $6 bucks. Compare that with adv which we call Banner 2 , and it has 45,000 impressions , and its estimated earnign sis $100, from the outset , it looks Banner 2 is more profitable . But lets calculate Banner 2 RPM ($100/45,000)*1000= RPM of 2.
Questions : In the above , which ads is more effective Banner 1 or 2 ? , in terms of quantum Banner 2 is more profitable but it takes 45,000 clicks to earn that. Compare that with Banner 1 that gives you $0.15 with just 25 impressions .
Answer : In this example Banner 1 is better than Banner 2 because you have better returns with lesser traffic (and its summaries in RPM of 6 which is higher than RPM 2)
Decisions: How does it help you in your decision making . Your advertising decision henceforth is to concentrate to bring in more traffic to boost Banner 1 with a higher RPM .
