Reps Call For Investigation Into Maina’s Reinstatement

Reps Call For Investigation Into Maina’s Reinstatement

Reps To Conclude Work On Constitution Amendment Thursday
The House of Representatives is debating a motion on the alleged recall, reinstatement, and sack of the former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on pension reform, Abdulrasheed Maina.
The Lawmakers are calling for an investigation into the matter as it has raised a lot of questions that are begging for answers.
They have set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate the matter and give strong sanctions against any person or persons implicated in the issue.
The House is also urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to immediately arrest Mr Maina for subsequent prosecution.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Senate had set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the recently dismissed civil servant and former Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Pension, Abdulrasheed Maina.
After its sitting on Tuesday, the Senate resolved that the Committee on Public Service and Establishment investigate how Maina got into the country after he left the shores of the country and trailing a report that he was on EFCC wanted list for about two years.
The Senate through the committee is also set to investigate how Maina was reinstated into Public Service and how he got promoted to the level of Director in the civil service.
