Biafra Struggle Gathers Momentum In Social Media

It’s Day 5 since the start of the #BiafraMillionManMarch organised by pro-Biafra protesters to demand the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
According to witnesses in Port Harcourt where there is an ongoing protest, some of the protesters carry banners and placards with inscriptions such as: “we demand the unconditional and immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafrans in various prisons around Nigeria.”
Consequently, some protesters have taken the protest to the social media, tweeting. The protest have spread from Onitsha (Anambra state) to Aba (Abia), Yenegoa (Bayelsa) and currently Port Harcourt, Rivers state in the last five days.
They say their purpose is to call the world’s attention to the ongoing protests across the South-East and South-South Nigerian cities, thus making it the first trending topic on Twitter in Nigeria and sixth trending topic on Twitter worldwide.
Below are some of the notable tweets that are making wave for and against pro-Biafra protests, from Nigerians home and abroad including Aisha Yesufu, the #BringBackOurGirls campaigner:
