While there are no confirmed details as to the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim, it is alleged that he was shot by the police

One person has reportedly lost his life following the protest by pro-Biafran group in Onitsha and Bayelsa on Friday, November 6, 2015.
According to a report by Nigerian Watch, an individual lost his life when the separatists clashed with police and vigilante groups as they called for the release of detained Radio Biafra director, Nnamdi Kanu.

However, the Onitsha Police Area commander, Philip Ezekiel, said that the police were not responsible for the man’s death as there was no clash whatsoever between the protesters and the police anywhere in the state.
It should be noted that Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra was arrested by security men after arriving in Lagos from the UK.
